St Mary’s School serves a varied and interesting neighbourhood with the pupils and their families representing a rich diversity of cultures, beliefs and languages. The school draws upon its many cultural groups to enrich the curriculum. The school is firmly committed to equality of opportunity and this is apparent in all aspects of life within it.
St Mary’s School is a church school by foundation and is a convertor academy. Its governors include representatives of the parish, the Diocese, parents, teachers and the local community.
The pleasant and attractive school site comprises a two storey main building which includes a
nursery class and four mobile classrooms. Altogether the site accommodates twelve classes of infants and junior pupils and a fifty-two place part time nursery class.
The school encourages a good rapport with parents, governors, local community, and neighbouring schools. Parents are welcome into school, and are asked to take an active part in their child’s learning and celebrate their achievements.
Over the years we have supported a number of other primary schools with Leadership and Management support. We have supported schools outside of Birmingham Local Authority such as two schools in Bristol. In addition to this we have supported schools within the Birmingham Local Authority.
